Digitise processes with Microsoft Power Apps - the three advantages for the construction industry

Do the employees in your construction, civil engineering or installation company use hardcopy time sheets? This is inefficient in itself and takes up even more time because an employee in administration still has to type all these registrations into the computer afterwards. To make these types of manual operational processes more efficiently, Microsoft introduced the Power Apps Platform. Developers can build apps that connect to your company data and digitise processes quickly with Power Apps.

Curious to see the advantages of Power Apps in the construction industry? Three benefits in a nutshell:

Three advantages of Power Apps for construction, civil engineering and installation technology

  • Development of apps is fast

Power Apps is part of the low-code development platform Microsoft Power Platform. This means that developers need only a minimum of programming code to develop digital and customised solutions for your company resulting in a short lead time and lower costs.

  • Collect information in your company quickly

By registering data with apps and importing them into your ERP system 4PS Construct, you have all your information about your operational processes centralised. At the same time, your processes are less error prone, less labour intensive and cheaper. For example, a mechanic reports a failure using the app. This call will be visible in 4PS Construct at once. The planner can turn the call into a service order and schedule it for the right colleague; meanwhile the mechanic can see in the app what the status of the call is, and who is taking care of it.

  • Seamless integration with other Microsoft programs

As Power Apps is part of the Microsoft Power Platform, it is seamlessly integrated with other Microsoft programs. Data you and your colleagues enter in a Power App, may for instance be analysed in a dashboard in Power BI.

As you are using 4PS Construct based on Microsoft Dynamics 365, you can also link this info to your ERP system. All data from software programs are connected with the Microsoft Power Platform. Giving you a continuous control of and grip on your processes.
